“Green stroll along the Danube”
Over a distance of approximately 59 kilometers, you'll explore the extraordinary diversity of the floodplain forest. The alternation between dry, nutrient-poor grasslands and the former meanders of the Danube River has its own special charm. The view upwards through thick, old oak trees and deciduous forests offers a primeval forest-like feeling. The lake landscape along the trail was created by gravel mining, but in many places has already been reclaimed by climbing plants and water lilies. Time and again, the trail offers new perspectives and views. Especially on the "Leite," the edge of the Danube Valley plateau, you can enjoy a fascinating view over the floodplain forest.
