“Green stroll along the Danube”
Hike approximately 59 kilometers through the extraordinary diversity of the Danube floodplain forest. The interplay between dry, nutrient-poor grasslands and the former meanders of the Danube has its own special charm. Looking up through thick, old oaks and deciduous forests evokes a primeval forest feeling. The lakes along the trail were created by gravel extraction, but in many places they have already been reclaimed by vines and water lilies. The trail constantly offers new perspectives and vistas. Particularly on the "Leite," the edge of the Danube Valley plateau, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the floodplain forest.
