Before the Jurasteig Trail makes its way from Bad Abbach through the "Oberndorfer Hänge" nature reserve, it first follows the idyllic banks of the Danube to the pedestrian bridge in the north of Bad Abbach. After climbing through the Kalkofenring settlement, the trail leads through a diverse forest landscape, offering repeated beautiful views of the Danube Valley. In Matting, a cable ferry takes hikers to the other side of the Danube. With its steep cliffs, the Mattinger Hänge nature reserve offers an impressive backdrop and the opportunity to observe the peregrine falcon on its hunting expedition.
