Veste Oberhaus, with its stunning view of Passau's old town, is the starting point for this Goldsteig stage. Via the districts of Zieglreut and Grubweg, the trail heads into the countryside toward the granite town of Hauzenberg. Part of the Goldsteig trail here runs along the old railway line and past former mills. Natural field and forest paths make hiking a pleasant experience.
