8 Valley rides Blaubeuren and up on the Alb

Start Blaubeuren

The scenic valley tour begins in the Blautopf town of Blaubeuren in the valley of the ancient Danube. Radelt We first cycle through the Blautal valley to Blaustein and then branch off into the Kleine Lautertal valley. This picturesque valley leads us along the river to the spring in Lautern. Here we can take a short break and stop for refreshments before climbing to Berghülen, Laichingen, and Heroldstatt. Two large show caves await us on the Alb: the Tiefenhöhle Laichingen and the Sontheimer Höhle. After this impressive stop, we cycle downhill through the gorge-like Tiefental valley, and all our exertions are rewarded with a wonderfully long descent. Finally, we return to Blaubeuren via the Ach valley, past the World Heritage-listed "Geißenklösterle" cave. Here we have the opportunity to visit the famous Blautopf karst spring, the beautiful old town, the monastery, and the legendary Ice Age art with Venus in the Prehistoric Museum. The tour is located on the popular side route of the Danube Cycle Pathwhich leads via Blaubeuren through the Urdonautal valley.
