This fitness-oriented tour starts in Sigmaringen and follows the Danube Cycle Path towards Riedlingen as far as Sigmaringendorf, then continues onto the Swabian Alb plateau and through the charming Lauchert Valley back to Sigmaringen. Besides magnificent natural scenery, such as views as far as the Austrian and Swiss Alps on a clear day, the tour offers numerous cultural and historical highlights. Sigmaringen Castle, Hohenzollern Castle, sits majestically above the Danube and is open to visitors from March to December. Throughout the year, many worthwhile medieval events take place at the Hornstein Castle ruins. In Veringendorf, a stop to visit Hohenzollern's oldest church allows you to discover traces of the principality. A spooky experience awaits at the local history museum in Veringenstadt, housed in the more than 500-year-old town hall. Here, you can see the original witch's shirt worn by the last woman convicted of witchcraft in the town in 1608 when she was beheaded.
