The tour starts at Donaueschingen train station . We follow cycle route sign number 2 towards the town center. Before turning right into the castle park, a detour to the world-famous Danube spring , located next to the Fürstenberg Castle, is worthwhile. Along the artfully landscaped water features, we reach the end of the castle park and turn right towards Hüfingen. Once there, the path leads through the historic old town, offering views of the millrace and the town mill. Following the Breg River, we continue to the Roman bath ruins and then take the forest path directly to Bräunlingen. Along the Buchhalde hill, we cycle to St. Remigius Church. At the Löwenbrauerei brewery, we follow Kirchstraße past the town hall to the Mühlentor (Mill Gate). From here, we cycle past the town church, the Narrenbrunnen (Fool's Fountain), and the Kelnhof Museum towards Bruggen. We cross the main road and cross the Breg River via a bridge , where the route meets a path along the embankment. After a longer stretch through the forest along the Schellenberg hill, we reach Aufen. From here, the route follows the Brigach river to the starting point.
