Vilshofen lies south of the Bavarian Forest. Here, the Vils and Wolfach rivers flow into the Danube, and the old town rises up in the middle. It was built on the narrow peninsula that extends into the water and is home not only to beautiful houses and churches, but also steeped in history. The Benedictine Schweiklberg Abbey overlooks the town.
