Pförring

The market town of Pförring is rich in a cultural past, with roots dating back to the Mesozoic era. Even in prehistoric times, the ideal settlement conditions in our region were recognized, allowing an extraordinary cultural landscape to develop. Pförring is known, among other things, for the Celeusum cavalry fort located in the immediate vicinity of the Limes World Heritage Site. Many of the churches in and around Pförring date back to the Romanesque period and testify to the region's importance. Through the merger of the originally independent communities of Ettling, Wackerstein, Gaden, Forchheim, and Lobsing in Pförring, a market town rich in magnificent architectural monuments and cultural diversity has developed.
