Furtwangen, the source town of the Danube , is the highest town in Baden-Württemberg. The Breg, the longest tributary of the Danube, originates here. The town is home to a ski boarding school and Furtwangen University. The German Clock Museum documents the close connection to Black Forest clockmaking. Its collection, spanning over 160 years, comprises more than 8000 objects from around the world. Furthermore, Furtwangen hosts the Antique Clock Fair in August, one of the largest antique clock fairs in Europe, and the Black Forest Bike Marathon in September.
