The Old Anatomy Building is one of the city's most important university and medical history buildings . It was built between 1723 and 1736 on behalf of the Bavarian State University, which had been located in Ingolstadt since 1472 and played a central role in the academic world of southern Germany until its relocation to Landshut in 1800. It now houses the German Museum of the History of Medicine , a beautiful garden, and a pleasant museum café.
