Bike and train

With a few exceptions, the towns along the Danube are connected by a railway line. You can therefore arrive and depart by train. Find out in advance about the current conditions for transporting bicycles. On nice days, there will be a lot of bicycles on the trains (including day trippers). Please be considerate of one another and follow our instructions for the benefit of all cyclists.

Information on bicycle transport

Please help to use the available capacity on the trains as efficiently as possible by following the instructions below:

  • Please park your bikes staggered (one in the direction of travel, the next in the opposite direction).
  • Secure your bike with the existing roller straps and lock it.
  • Please remove your luggage bags before the journey begins and take them with you to your seat.
  • Discuss with your fellow travelers whose bike needs to be unloaded and when. This will allow everyone to get on and off the bike quickly.

By car

All places along the Danube are easy to reach by car. However, it is advisable to check in advance about the return journey options by train or bike shuttle.
